'Countdown' sail number 321- My Swift18
My small sailing boat is a Swift18 which was made by Swift boats near the Hamble river in Southampton in 1989. I bought her in September 2008 she is in good condition and is great fun to sail in the estuary here in Kingsbridge. The reason I bought this boat was partly because I remember lusting after one many years ago and also because she fits the description of the requirements of an estuary boat for this area.
- Llight and fast
- Drop iron keel
- Falt bottomed to sit on the mud
- Easy to rig
- Safe and easy to get around the coach roof
- LOW 5.5mtrs (max quay mooring length)
You can see photos of her in the photograph gallery on this site
I belong to the KEBC (Kingsbridge Estuary Boat Club), which is a very active self help group representing the interests of anybody with a passion for boating in the area.
